Boston Lodge Cattery

Boston Lodge is a five star cattery, serving Evesham, Pershore and the surrounding area.

Welcome to Boston Lodge Cattery. Have a look around our website. Please give us a call if you need more information.

  • It is important for your cat's comfort and sense of security during their stay with us that they are subjected to a minimum of disturbance, and for this reason we follow a strict routine.

The appearance of strangers at unpredictable times of the day can be stressful to cats who find comfort in routine and familiarity, so we do all we can to ensure that disturbance is kept to a minimum.

Whilst are priority is always with our cat’s, we understand that it is not always possible to fit in with our opening times, if it is impossible for you to visit during our opening times, please contact us to arrange an out-of-hours collection/drop off.

  • The Short answer is no! We hope you appreciate that the cattery is also our home. Only under exceptional circumstances we might be able accommodate your request.

  • The boarding fee includes food from our comprehensive menu. We keep major brands in stock but if your cat prefers a premium brand or has special dietary requirements, we ask you to provide the cat's food for their stay. Please get in touch for further information. The fee also includes bedding, underfloor heating, heated snuggle pads and plenty of fuss and attention.

  • To calculate your total boarding fees just simply multiply the appropriate boarding fee by the number of boarding days. For example you bring your 2 cats in on Monday 1st September and collect on Saturday 6th September to calculate the price for 2 cats multiplied by the number of days. i.e. £17.50 x 6 days = £105

  • We will not book out a pen to another customer on the same day as someone collects their cat. This is to avoid any problems with customers running in to delays. It also gives us time to fully clean and disinfect the pen before the next guest arrives. This means that your pen will be available as soon as we open on your first day of booking and can be collected up to our closing time.

  • We appreciate you letting us know as soon as you can. During peak times, reserve the right to make a charge for late cancellations and no shows. Peak times are between the 1st of May and the 31st October and booking that includes between the 24th and 31st December. During busy times we fill up months in advance and have to turn customers away, a late cancellation has a significant impact on our business. There are no refunds for early collections. We may ask for a deposit on future bookings after a late cancellation. Please only book what you need, don't add extra days to reserve the space just in case, unless you're happy to pay for them.

  • Yes. Because we will not book out a pen on the same day a cat vacates, we can guarantee your cat’s pen will be fully cleaned and sanitised for your cat’s arrival.

  • For all our customer’s protection, we need you to bring your cat's up-to-date vaccination records and vaccination history which we will need to keep during your cat’s stay. All cats must be immunised against Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu. Please ensure the initial course of injections is completed at least 2 weeks prior to boarding.

The vaccination record must show that subsequent boosters have been administered every 12 months.

We cannot accept your cat in to the cattery without seeing the vaccination card, to do so would invalidate our licence and put our other residents at risk so please check before you book with us that the vaccinations are up-to-date for the time your cat will be staying with us.

. If you’re unsure about vaccinations, please consult your Vet.

  • You must contact a vet and get your cat booked in for its vaccinations. We will not be able to board your cat until it has had its primary and secondary vaccinations which take about 5 weeks to complete.

  • Boston Lodge Cattery has a lot of white plastic shelves that makes it very easy to spot the signs of fleas. The biggest tell-tale is small brown spots (flea dirt) that turn red when wet. Upon spotting any signs of fleas we will get in touch with you to find out the last time your cat(s) were treated, if there is a reasonable amount of time since the last treatment we will treat them with Advocate (the cost will be passed on). If your cat(s) were treated recently, it may be too soon to be re-treated so we will manually try and remove as many as we can with a flea comb. We will put all the bedding (including any bedding brought in) straight into the washing machine (which will kill all stages of fleas) and replace it with clean bedding. We will dispose of the floor mats and replace with new. We do this at the first sign of any fleas to minimise any chance of them moving on to other cats in our care.

We are an indoor/outdoor cattery so it is possible fleas could enter the cattery from outside, however if your cat(s) has effective flea treatment any stray fleas should be killed if they landed on them. If your cat is showing signs of fleas and they are treated regularly, it is likely that the treatment is ineffective and it may be worth considering switching to another brand. In our experience, cheaper supermarket bought flea treatments and even some vet bought treatments can be poor at killing and preventing fleas. We were recommend to switching from Frontline to Advocate by our Vets and are very pleased with the results.

  • There is no age limit but kittens must be fully vaccinated before coming to the cattery. Young kittens are still in the process of settling into their new home and learning toilet training, so boarding at a young age can disrupt home routine and training at an important stage of their lives. We do give special attention to kittens to make sure they settle in well and feel stimulated and cared for. Please contact the cattery if you are at all concerned.

  • Yes, we can adapt our pens to cater for disabled cats. Please get in touch to discuss your cat’s individual needs.

  • Item descriptionAll cats are checked very regularly, paying attention to appetite, drinking, toilet habits and behaviour, this allows us to spot trends quickly and take action promptly. Therefore it is very important you tell us about your cats medical history.

We have an isolation unit where we can accommodate any cat who appears to be ill whilst awaiting veterinary advice, We will endeavor to contact your Veterinary practice as they have your cats records.

If however we are unable to get your cat to your practice we have the support of our local veterinary practice who we have a very good working relationship.

Before treatment is decided you and your own vet will be consulted. We will always do our utmost to contact the owner should your cat need to see a vet.

  • You do not need to worry that your cat will be cold as each pen at Boston Lodge cattery has its own thermostatically controlled underfloor heating. We can also provide additional heated pads which sit under their bedding that acts like a hot water bottle. The cats love them!

  • Yes – we can provide a basket type bed and bedding, but they are never the same as their own home comforts, it is much more comfortable for your cat to have its own bed or blanket as it will have a familiar smell to it. This will help your cat settle down quickly. During the winter months or inclement weather we provide an additional snug heated pad for extra comfort for all cats at no extra cost.

  • Absolutely! Our units are cleaned, disinfected and sprayed with a feline friendly sanitiser prior to your cats arrival and then freshened on a daily basis. Litter trays are cleaned as soon as they become soiled.

  • Yes, providing we can administer medication without causing excess stress to your cat. We have lots of experience in administering various medications, including insulin injections. Please discuss your cat's needs prior to booking.

  • We’d appreciate you letting us know. Boston Lodge Cattery wants all of its customers, human and feline to be happy with the cattery and the service it provides. If we have failed somewhere please bring it to our attention and we will endeavor to put it right. Please email us at info@bostonlodgecattery.co.uk or call us 01386 860893.
